Nothing Says "Love" like an Iron and Ironing Board

That's how the handwritten card started...which was sitting right next to a brand new iron and ironing board - a surprise that my girlfriend left for me to find when I came home from work.

And I absolutely loved it!

I know what you're thinking - what the heck - an iron! Isn't that the gift every girl dreads?

Well, first of all, I'm a guy - and a manly one at that. I'm in my mid 20s and like beer, football, and BBQ.

And you know what? I like looking good when I go out, too!

And too often, I was leaving the house with a wrinkled shirt.

I constantly remarked that I needed an iron, but the de-wrinkle setting on the dryer was working just fine...you know how it goes.

I came home from work one day, opened the front door, and there it was...I was so happy to get my new iron and ironing board! It was such a thoughtful gift because I needed it and I wasn't expecting it.

I wouldn't recommend this for a birthday or major anniversary, but for a "just because" surprise that they really need (and keep forgetting to pick up) - why not!? - give an iron!

That's a really cute story (and good for you on learning how to iron!). I know I love it when my boyfriend picks up little things for me that I'd been mentioning I needed but just hadn't had the time to run out and get. Occasionally we end up with two new hammers as we both picked one up, but I think it's these little gestures that make your relationship so simple. Little things like this make me feel so loved! Who needs to wait for a birthday, Christmas or anniversary to let your loved one know that you're thinking of them? Not me.
